Watching classic tractor neb tractor ride Had to have 13 mph speed Fellow driving F20 at speed How did he get gearing up????

Standard trans with a Heisler or Behlen overdrive and 28" rubber you get 10mph, 36" rubber gets you a few more mph, add a high speed 4th gear set and you are up there close to 18. Rebuilt/Tight steering and footbrakes highly recommended.

fast 4th and the higher ratio Heisler will do 20+ on 36 inch rubber. kind of a white knuckle ride, but it sure is fun when you can pass a 1206 like its stuck in 3rd gear...........

Just drove my H to a storage garage I rented 2 miles from the house. It was 2 weeks before xmas, and a nice day. I drove it instead of hauling it.

5th most of the way there. needless to say, it was a VERY alert ride! What are slight bumps to a car, were scary "HOLD ONs" for the H.

Not sure I have the cajones to run an F-20 at 20 MPH.

That is like the ford 8n that had the Funk and Sherman conversions in them . I never seen one that the front wheels didnt shake back and forth with the normal trans and engine. Cant imagine driving any of the old tractors at 20 mph

I have a '52 8n that has a sherman hi/lo.. it'll run 23 mph (laser clocked) and steers like a car.... of course, and has new spindle bushings, tie rod ends and the steering box is properly adjusted.

My 39 F-20 with the fast 4th in it and 36" tires gets up and moves. wouldn't surprise me if it would reach 13 mph. It feels like you're going almost as fast as an H. No external overdrive.
