Head Studs for '44 H

I have a '44 H in the machine shop right now and I need to replace some of the head studs (holds the head onto the engine block). I checked with the Case/IH dealer and they said it is a discontinued item. The machine shop is trying to find some. Does anyone know where I can get some?

see if you have a hot rod shop near you. take the studs with you and have them match them up. i did that with a super m.

Jim, try another IH dealer. An reputable online dealer lists two size head studs, short 5 15/16", and long 6 1/8". Long ones are $15.94, the nut is $11.43, washer is $9.72. For the lond stud, it says one in stock. For the short studs the web-site says "call", for price.
Last year I bought 3 head studs and nuts for a Farmall A from my local IH dealer. Price was similar to the H, but they only had 2 in stock, so, they mailed the back-ordered stud.

My Case-IH dealer said the smaller stud was discontinued and the longer stud was $15. Luckily the one I needed was the longer. Once I installed the head I realized they probably discontinued the smaller because the longer worked for the entire head. I found that I screwed the smaller head studs too far into the block, needed to back them out, could have gone with the longer.

If all else fails you can get them from A.R.P
I got a full set from Murphys motor service in Mo. They are a little pricey but worth it and I bet he has them in stock.
