Need Part Number for Glow Plug - IH 424 Deisel

I need to get (4) glow plugs for an IH 424 Deisel Tractor. I'd rather get the parts from NAPA or another local place rather than fooling with the IH dealership since I don't have one nearby. I was wondering if anyone has the part number for these glow plugs (NAPA, IH, etc.) that I can use to try and get them.

Also, as you can see from the pictures....the one closest to the radiator is broken and someone put a bolt in place of the original connector. Does the new glow plug come with the connector peice, or will I have to order one of those as well. If so, a part number for that would be nice.

THANKS GUYS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

According to my parts info, the glow plug is IH part number 377206 R92. I don't know about the connector, but I assume that would be part of the glow plug.

Hi RTR, chances are the glow plug next to the
missing one is also burned out. I always replaced
all 4 glow plugs at once. At one time Champion made
replacement glow plugs.

All the wires between the glowplugs MUST be clean and bright including the last wire from no1 glowplug and the timing case s that is the earth. The resistor unit (pepper pot) on the dash takes 6 volts and each glowplug takes 1.5 volts adding up to 12volts. MJ

Are you saying that the wires need to be clean and bright where they connect to the glow plugs, or does the entire length of the wires need to be clean and bright?

None of the glow plugs are currently missing. Only one is broken.

If Champion makes a glowplug for this tractor, how would I know which one to get? Are they all the same for all deisel engines? I'm sure the local parts store (NAPA, etc.) wouldn't have the info for this tractor to be able to look up the Champion part number.

Hi RTR, the following was provided some time ago
by Demaris:
Glow plugs are Champion AG28 or CH28 (155). Bosch
# 0250001001 or 0250001010 Lucas: DS104 Beru:
214GK
All are rated at .9 of a volt and 40 amps, i.e. 36
watts.
If you Google CH28 glow plug you will find one for
sale on ebay.

MJ is correct, the connections should be clean and
the copper wires between glow plugs will get warm
and that paint may start to burn. I don't know
where you are located so if you are in a warm
climate the painted wires probably not a problem.
Here in Canada it was -25C last night and the glow
plugs wires would be warm to hot for the tractor
to start. BTW DO NOT use ether on this tractor
while using the glow plugs.
