I have a farmall h that I'm wanting to wake up.I have a 300 utility motor to rebuild. I assume that everything bolts up. the only difference I see, is the starter position on the tractors are in different locations. Is this a problem? Is the 300 worth the trouble or should I wait and get a 350? This will be a pull the sleeves out and run piston in the sleeve bore modification.

All you gotta do is strip the 300 engine down to the bare block and head, then transfer everything from the H engine so it will mount in the H. Starter won't matter if the flywheel is the right size on the 300 engine.

I have a farmall 300 with 350 sleeves & pistons in a 45 H. I pull a 2 X 14 plow in 3rd & 4th(mostly 4th). E-mail me there are a few things you need to be aware of.

get yourself a 300U or 350U and put the motor in that. everything bolts up and you end up with a much cooler utility type tractor, just an opinion.
the 300 and 350 are very similar, the 350s are more likely to have the power steering option.

if i may assist you sir one area that has not been mentioned is the timing cover. you will find that the c169 utility block is threaded with larger holes to mount the cover. you will have to adapt these holes to do so to mount cover to it yes it is possible as i have done this trick many times over the years have a happy new year as well good night

Mike, he probably knocked a 300U in the head to get the engine...

BTW, the parent bore in the 300 and 350 engines are the same. Running with no sleeves, it won't matter.
