IH Ammeter - Farmall M

It is a small point, but my 1947 Farmall M has on old IH ammeter on it (20-0-20). On that instrument, the needles comes up through a crescent shaped slot and all the working is hidden. It is a very neat looking ammeter. I bought a new IH ammeter for my Farmall H and found that the face is made differently, with a large hole showing the base of the needle and its pivot. I know this is a small thing, but for some reason it really stands out and irritates me every time I see it. Are original ammeters available somewhere, so that I can indulge my pedantry for originality and relax with the right ammeter. I could change it over to the Australian standard, which is a Lucas BM-4 ammeter (30-0-30), but that means enlarging the hole to 2 & 1/8" and finding a very expensive ammeter.
Thanks,

There are places that make replacement ammeters but
they are not exact duplicate. They just take a
modern instrument and change the face. Your best bet
would be to find an old original. I'll look around
today and see what I have. For 47 should it say IH
or IHC?

I believe it should say IH, but I quite like the IHC emblem, so either would be great. If you find a couple of them, I'll happily purchase. Thanks for your replies to my posts. It is always nice when people take an interest in these things. I really enjoy this forum because the people are interested in the same things I am. My family and friends mostly think I need some sort of therapy to cure me of buying and working old tractors… but I know there is no cure, so might as well enjoy it!
