Hey guys I had a freind of mine rebulid my carb Tractor is 1948 Farmall H what are the steps for ajustment Also when i choke it just for a few seconds gas poors out of it then i will not pull on choke she starts right up Thanks for all the help also have happy new year

Main jet screw, in until rough, out until smooth plus 1/4-1/2 turn. Idle speed, turn either way until smooth, repeat if needed. Some say to turn the main jet screw out until exhaust smokes then in until it stops. That will result in the mixture being too rich. Best to run as lean as possible and still get good power.

just a note, get the motor good and warmed up before adjusting the carb. You will have to readjust it when the ambient temperature changes by more than 20 degrees.

Yes, I rebuilt the carb on my H, was inside but I was trying to get it adjusted at no more than 30 degrees -- I was not successful keeping it from stuttering when advancing the throttle rapidly. Temp gauge never moved.

sir may i ask what breed of carb is affixed to manifold. i will not agree with prior settings that have been submitted by fellow forum members thank you
