farmall c heat sending unit

can someone tell me where to install the heat sending unit on 1946 farmall C ? i was told that the engine is out of a combine. thanks for the help.

On the A and B the sending unit goes in the lower hose pipe area if I remember right but been a while since I looked as to exactly where in that area

First of all you dont have a 46C as they didnt make the C untill late 47. You say a combine engine so that leaves a couple of places. The top radiator outlet,the head front by a headbolt,the lower outlet going into the radiator, Thes are places where there should be a pipe plug and that is where you can put the sender. Getting a reading at the bottom area is the lowest temp in the engine as thats the way the thermo system works. Now you didnt say whether your engine has a water pump as many were added.
