More about 13.5-32 Rear Tyres

After considerable searching around I have found no suppliers of 13.5-32 tyres or inner tubes for my Farmall M. I can get 12.4-32 tyres, but this will lower the rear of the tractor considerably so it will sit at an angle. As a result I am considering having a run of tyres manufactured, but there would probably be minimum run of 1,000. Are there tractors which need use this size tyre in United States? There were various tractors in Australia which used them so could shift some here, not sure about a whole run though. I don't want to make money out them, just want to have parts available for tractors as required. Any ideas and suggestions appreciated.

In the US that would be 13.6-32, not 13.5. I thought the M had 38's regardless of the country. I'm not questioning you, just curious. M's in the US generally came with 6 ply 11-38's, new size 12.4-38.

Ah, I contacted Miller Tire about 13.5-32 inner tubes and they said they had none, so I assumed the same for the tyres. I'd better check to see if they have tyres. I can get away with different tubes if I have to.

I know you posted some rear-view pictures of the tractor with 32" tires on it a while back.

Do you have any side-on shots you can share?

32" tires are definitely non-standard for an M in the USA. The very first Ms had 36" tires on split rims, but 38" tires are the most common by far.

I wonder if that tractor had a previous life as a road grader, that prompted the change to 32" rubber.

A couple of pictures of Farmall M rear wheel with 13.5-32 tyre. Also pictures from from Farmall AM book.

All the new Farmall M's I ever saw after late 1947-early 1948(about when they started having the newer decals, adjustable width front wheels and monroe type silver cover seats more or less standard on them) came with 12-38 tyres...ooops-tires and H's got the 11-38's....4 ply though.

Well, apparently Farmall AM tractors were available with 38" rims, but I have never seen one. Basically you got Farmall H with 28" rims and Farmall M and AM with 32" rims. I believe Super AMD tractors had 38" rims. As to 'tyres' or 'tires', you will have to forgive my tendency to spell as per Australia and United Kingdom where we use 'tyre' in place of 'tire'. No idea why, just one of those things.
