I have a chance to look at a farmall a with the side mounted lift exhaust. with a single bottom plow. Hand crank and runs. Not sure if the lift adds value to the tractor or more then a problem. just want your input if it would be worth buying?

That looks like a fairly straight A. If the exhaust lift is working, it sure beats an armstrong lift. I would restore it with the vacuum lift. As to value added, anything is just a guess.

If the lift is complete and working (or close to it), the lift alone is worth around $500 in my part of the country.

You do the math.
 
Its got a batt box and a gen and lites and with the plow set-up sounds like a bargain. The lift system and plow are worth a bunch if its all there. I repair and have parts for those exhaust lift systeks and getting one thats all there and works is worth some serious money if you dont want the plow. There are some who would buy the plow and lift system making the tractor pretty cheap. Buy it
 
Thanks Todd, I am not specifically in the market for it, but others may be if you don't want it. That is a very solid deal for someone looking to have an A with the exhaust lift on it......working to boot.
