Thanks Tom!!! And everyone else.

Per your steps I followed and redid the mag. It was timed to a tee already but redid the mag with points condenser and the whole works. It starts in 2 turns of the engine!!!! Amazing that all this time it has been in the mag. Anyway now both my Farmalls are running like a Swiss watch. I have new parts ordered for my Ford 9N then Hopefully I'll have it there too. Thanks again

Good for you! What is even better now, is that you can time a mag anytime you want, and for the most part, on any tractor. The technique outlined is basic timing 101, and unless you have something really unusal, you can now time it.

Dirty points or a bad condenser will give you fits. Dirty contacts on the cap or rotor will have similar effects.

I know. Engines and electrical systems have scared the heck out of
me. Now I'm starting to take them both a small bit at a time.
Thanks again!
