IH Super M Governor Noise

I am trying to help my neighbor find parts for this IH Super M governor. He does not use the computer. He told me the governor has a "noise" and I am trying to find information, parts or posssibly a rebuild kit for him. I would also appreciate what other model IH tractors used the same governor.

The Farmall H through the Farmall 450 all used the same basic governor design. Some of the parts will interchange, some of them will not. The internal linkages wear out, the flyweights wear out, and sometimes the bearings wear out. I'm pretty sure all of the individual parts are still available through Case-IH, so the best thing you can do is remove the governor from the tractor, take it all apart, and then inspect it and replace all of the parts that have excessive wear. Case-IH does not offer a rebuild kit. About 10 or 12 years ago I priced all of the individual internal parts, and it totalled up to over $600. If there is anybody out there who DOES offer a complete rebuild kit, the price would be at least $600 if not higher.

Farmall 66.... wanted to let you know that I did find that this is actually an overhaul kit after looking further into the part.... Woody

This is a Rock-It Series Thompson X-tra Power governor overhaul kit. Improves performance up to 20%. Replaces TG5101M.

Wow I need start offering a governor rebuild service to people. I have taken a completely worn out governor and rebuit it by using over sized pins. With the right tools all the components can be machined and made tight again.
