coolant in oil on '39 H

My '39 H is getting coolant in the oil. I suspected a bad head gasket or a cracked head, but see no evidence of either on disassembly. The head is a rebuilt unit and it still looks good. Is there any other place coolant could be leaking into the oil (other than a cracked block)? Any suggestions would be appreciated! I'd like to get this fixed right before I put it back together.

A 39 H original block has a frost plug under the front cover. I would suspect this. They usually leave a trail of rusty crap or antifreeze that you can see with the pan off. I know it is too late now, but this is why I do a cyl leakage test before I tear an engine down. If that doesn't show up anything I do a radiator pressure test.

check the base of the sleeve with the oil pan removed and look for evidence of antifreeze. usually will be #1 or #2 cylinder. the bore may have a crack in it leaking coolant between the sleeve and block. if so, pull the sleeve and look at the crack, if its a minor crack, you can lock tite the sleeve back in and it will hold.

Thanks! I will pull the pan and see if I can find a leak around the sleeves or from the freeze plug.
