Injection Pump Leak

I want to repair the throttle shaft leak on my 400D injection pump. The pump says IH, with a 270000R91 number on the plate, and the tractor nameplate says D26419578, if that is of any use. (I'm not talking about the primary pump.)

I understand you must remove the injection pump, which is very easy now since the tractor is all tore down. My question: is there a back plate on this pump to access the throttle shaft and seal? If no back plate, how do you get to it? There's a front plate, but it looks near to impossible to get to the shaft from there. Also, what seal number is required.? Thanks.

Way to involved to explain. All sides, top, bottom and ends need something removed. If you want to try it get a IH ISS-1003V repair manual.
You have whats called a B type pump. IH seal # is 59722D, or cross the # to see if other seals work.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm, but I have tried a number of those in the field without success. I have been twisting wrenches for over 40 years so I don't consider myself a slouch at it. I have decided to cut my losses and I just send them to Central Motive Power out here and let them do it and write the guarantee. Merry Christmas.

Yeh, I came to the same conclusion this morning. I called SSB Tractor, and they have one available now, but it is pretty expensive. Will try Central.
