This tractor has not run for awhile and has no spark. What to check on a H-4 Magneto? ( I changed cap & rotor & wires ) Please help.

Clean and regap the breaker points! (A mag that sits a long time can develop an oxide film on the point surfaces that prevents it from sparking.)

Clean the points by drawing a folded dollar bill thru the points a few times. Then set the gap to .013". If the magneto is good you should now get a good spark.

A clue as to what, if anything, is wrong may be found by determining why the tractor was parked.

If the tractor was parked in running condition, then it's just dirty points.

If it was dragged to it's current location there is probably something more seriously wrong.
