Farmall MD Broken wheel

Just got the MD engine broke free from being seized for 5 years, runs great but unfortunately failed to realize in freeing it broke rear wheel hub, when backing the tractor to park it the wheel fell right off and almost tipped it right over.

I am planning on restoring this tractor and getting back into shape, after freeing the motor it started right up, I flushed all the fluids and it runs and switches to diesel perfect, everything is in good shape and all the sheet metal is not bent up. I am hearing all kinds of rumers as to what these are worth, can someone help me put a value on it for when I am ready to sell it?

Go to the Mecum Auction site. There have been a few across the block on their three auctions. Most of the tractors there are restored and in good to excellent condition. The site has pictures so that should help you out. I am positive there was one that was a no sale that was fully restored with the second battery box.

Looks as if you just need the clamp part, not the whole wheel.

Yep, and it looks like that molded in key was pretty iffy for quite some time.

I forgot, that is also a pretty inexpensive part to break when it comes to an MD. Around here you can get that whole center for $45 at the junk yard. I have seen a pair on CL for $100. Buy a pair and you can take the extra and make yourself a pair of plowing duals!

I also noticed a filler cap on the diesel injection pump, can someone explain what this is for?

There is oil in the injection pump. You fill it with engine oil until it comes out the petcock on the side. There is a drain on it to drain the oil oil on the bottom. GET A MANUAL! There are a lot of things different about an MD than the rest of the Ms. All the gas starts are pretty much the same, but the diesel and gas versions are totally different.
