I am not real familliar with the farmalls or their distributor system so I am asking for help. My father has a 1952 farmall M that has been sitting for a few months, I have checked for spark in the spark plugs and there is none, What is the next step the coil? And if so how do I go about checking it? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thankyou Mark.

Been setting for a couple months?? . First thing i would do is steal the wife emery board nail file and file the points . Then if that did not do the trick then the test lite would come out and dig a little deeper.

As Vet says--probably a film on the points.
I'd pull the coil wire out of the distributor cap & hold it 1/8 to 1/4 inch away from a good ground & crank the engine over. If a good blue spark at this point, trouble in distributor cap --rotor --or ignition wires.

Make sure you're getting voltage to your coil. With your points open and your ignition switch in the ON position you should have voltage on both small terminals on your coil. I would second cleaning the points. Hal
