Updates to Can you Identify this tractor model

I just received these pictures of the tractor. I purchased the tractor without seeing it as it is about 2 hours from me. The owners father had the tractor and she does not know anything about it other than the pictures that you see, but has been very helpful. From all of the great information I received from the last post, I believe it is a 560. Is there anything else I can learn from these pictures? It looks like most of the hood is there, but I still can't see all of it. Does it look like a parts tractor or one to get running? If I did not get it, from what I understand, it was going to a metal recycler.

Jason, You need a pic of the LH Bell housing there is where the tag is that tells you what tractor you have, and the Serial #. I do tend to agree with you as I think it is a 560 just by gauging from the larger tires on the tractor. Most 460s ran a smaller sized tire for they are less hp that the 560, and they would have used up a lot of their HP to turn those larger tires.
Get it home! Great project tractor!
Hope this helps.

Sheet metal and valve cover was probably removed for a reason. Checking everything over is the only way to know what you have. Looks to have a 2 point hitch. It is a 560, a 460 would have a serial # plate on the right side about where the gas line is passing. Frame rails wouldn't be straight at the rear bolt points if a 460. Also that center housing casting would be longer if a 460. You can find the 560 serial plate on the right side of the center housing with maybe power steering lines partly blocking veiwing it.

Looks like a Farmall 560 gas tractor. I had a Diesel. Loved it. Looks like it is still complete. Don"t see the valve cover tho. Should be able to get it running again.

Yes,

I figure it is probably stuck, blown headgasket, or stuck valves for the reason it was off. Because I has sat like that my plan is to remove head and have it boiled as I would guess most of the dust and dirt have accumulated from being open. If It checks out with no cracks, plane it, new gasket and install. I will also pull the pan and see what is there. While off I will run a cleaner down any hole to get any other dirt, dust out. Because nothing else looks pulled, I am leaning towards it having some stuck valves as the reason it is somewhat apart. If they were intending to pull the head, they would have disconnected carb at least.
Hard to say. With the exception of the fast hitch lift arms being a little bent, so far it looks somewhat straight. Matching tires, look 50 to 75. I hope the rest of the pieces are there.

I was wrong on my first guess. Definately a 560. I wouldn't part it. Obviously they got into it for some reason but engines are repairable. It looks like complete and all the sheet metal is there. Has decent rubber and has been out of the rain. I say good to go.

If the sheet metal is in good shape those pieces alone are worth more than the whole tractor will bring for for scrap

Well, if it is destined for the scrapper, that means you should be able to get it for scrap price.

If that is the case, what are you waiting on!

I had already bought it before I posted. I paid 900 for it which is a
little over scrap, but the scrapper was there while she was talking
with me. He bought the other metal stuff that was there and she
assured me nothing from the tractor went.

For $900 you certainly didn't get hurt... if nothing else, you could part it out and make good money, but it looks like a good restore candidate. Engines are one of the easier things to fix or replace if that's all that's wrong with it.

There's a bunch of white sheet metal trim for the hood that goes with that tractor. All the emblems will be on those white pieces IIRC, including the one with the tractor's model number. See if you can find it when you get out there.
