BIL has a German diesel 826 with an injector pump problem. It leaks, even when just setting and misses at low RPMS. New rebuild on the engine and the injectors gone thru. The shop that did the work was also supposed to fix the charging system and did not and ignored the pump problem. BIL did not find out about that until the morning after they deliverd back home. They never even bothered to call him.

I've been ask if a guy can bebuild them or will it require special tools. Keep in mind I've never done an injector pump.

Not real sure of brand or model but I can get that info if needed. I will be rewiring this tractor this winter for him and fixing the charging problem.

I think he should call the shop that did the work
and talk to them about their shoddy work repair.

The pump probably needs to go a reputable repair shop like US Diesel. Hal

LOL he did talk to the shop and in fact has refused to settle the bill. The shop claims that right now they don't have room to move it back in.

Trace thru all the joints and find where the slop is. If it's the output shafts in the steering box, I had mine built up and ground to size and it tightened it up a lot. If it's wallowed-out holes in the steering arm where the drag link ties in, those can be welded and machined back to spec, if it's the drag link ends, you can get new ones, but they're extremely pricey from IH. Better to use tie rod ends from an old Ford truck, which have the same thread (11/16-18 right hand and left hand) but only cost $10-20.

(quoted from post at 15:22:20 12/12/11) Hmm, I made this reply to the 350U thread, but it posted here. I must be losin' it...

Probly wasn't you. The forum has been doing some weird things lately.

He should talk to the Better Business Bureau about getting a refund since they failed to fix the problem. I would rattle their cage. Hal
