F-20 Carrier Gasket

I've got a '37 F-20 that I need to either buy a rear wheel carrier gasket for (my parts manual says it's part number 15110DA), or get a sheet of gasket material and make my own. Does anybody stock that part number? If not, does anybody sell sheet gasket big enough to make a 1-piece gasket? It looks like I'd need a sheet that's about 24"x30". My online searches thus far for either the part number or a big enough sheet have yielded nothing.

are you talking about the 'bull gear' housing?? if so, just use silicon

i pretty much use silicon in most everything on these old tractors. alot easier than fiddling with a gasket

www.mcmaster.com has vegetable fiber gasket material 3 foot wide and various lengths and thicknesses.

If you decide to use just silicone gasket sealer, use either the black permatex or #2 permatex. The blue RTV is junk in my opinion.

Use the Rite Stuff from Permatex, you can get it at Napa. Pricey , but its the best sealer I have ever used. Surface must be clean and dry though.

I've used freezer wrapping paper, newspaper, any
cardboard or whatever I can find to match the
thickness I want. I use Indian Head shellac for
sealer. But then I do everything "old school" I
don't like the looks of silicone.

I do agree it looks sloppy if you have excess sealer squeezed out all over the joint. I wipe the excess off when still wet, or carve it off when it is set with a single edge razor blade.
