Just picked up a 1466. It has the hyd seat. When testing it out it went up but now will not go down. Im guessing its the valve but cannot see or feel anything wrong with it. Is there anything else to check or does it have to be a problem with the valve? Thanks
John

The seat can come up high enough that the cylinder will bind because its almost all the way out where it will leak oil. The seat suspension is worn out causing this to happen. I have used a small chain to limit the travel in this situation.

If binding from going too high, just yank it around while holding valve to release or if you suspect the valve is not releasing, just unhook the hose to cyl and see if it comes down. They do indeed go too high when bushings get worn out and the cyl may even come out then you have a real mess. There is a stop on it but when things wear it can go past stop.
