gaskets for an A

I'm getting ready to round up the remaining parts for my A that I picked up this fall and much of what I want to change are the gaskets and seals in the rear end. Everything there has leaked at some point. My question - are the gaskets available from Case or will I have to make all them and if so, is there a package that can be purchased with everything for the rear end or do I need to look up each part number. Also I know I can get the seals from NAPA but it would be nice to have them before I start.

Most of the time you are stuck with buying a full set of gaskets. Most places including Case/IH will not sell just one ot 2 but sell you a complete set of say a head set or rebuild set etc. But that said you can buy most gasket sets from NAP or O'Reilly's or this site even

(quoted from post at 20:58:16 12/10/11) Not sure about the gaskets, but link_disallowed will have all the seals you need for your backend
Wow. in modern view you can't even mention s-t-e-i-n-e-r t-r-a-c-t-o-r not as a www link and have it allowed.

There isnt any gaskets in those rearends just seals. If you want the CAR QUEST #s i can post them. The inner and outer seals arent that hard to change getting brake drums off and so forth can be. For the bottom pans get a roll of gasket material and there will be enough for the small end plates where the diff shaft comes out.

yeah - I actually didn't expect that one to go through!

And, you this site SHOULD be tried first, but I just happen to have a steiner catalog and know they list all the seals in a relatively easy to find way.

I have always just bought individual gaskets from Case/IH without any problem. I also have made my own, but the store bought ones are sure nicer. I didn't even know you could buy a complete gasket set for an A rear end. Roger

I have never bought a full set of gaskets from CaseIH, always individual and there are very few they don't have. If I am overhauling an engine I use the gaskets that come with the aftermarket kit. They are ok also.

For engine gaskets look them up on here on yt! The prices are resonable! I get my seals from CarQuest or Napa. But most of the gaskets I needed for the Final drives and pto housing and others I made for gasket material I bought in a roll. All it takes is a little patience!
