Hi all! Just checking in to say hi. I am currently restoring a 1942 Farmall H. My grandfather bought it in the early '80s at auction. It was given to my dad later on to use to cut grass and plow a small garden. My dad was hurt on the H in 1994. Since then the H was retired and left to sit in the corner of the field. I finally convinced my dad to let me restore the H back to original condition ( the closest i can get ). Researching the H has brought me here and i've already learned a ton on what to do and what not to do! I've tried uploading pictures, but the site says i'm too new? Maybe i can get some help with that so i can share my journey. Thanks, Mark--

Welcome Mark! I'm restoring a '44 H. I have the tractor split, the engine block currently being hot tanked (and sleeves removed) and I'm about to order new sleeves and pistons. I hope to have mine done about mid-summer (new paint and all). This site has been a HUGE help to me and I'm sure you will find it to be the same for you.

Best regards,

Jim

Hello and welcome Mark! Lotsa good stuff here. Hope your journey is a pleasant one, my tractor journey tends to leave my pockets empty...:)

Welcome!! This Farmall group is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. If you are like most, you will enjoy returning daily even after you finish your H.

Welcome to our community Mark!

I myself have restored my 1952 H and have learned quite alot from my friends here on this forum. Do not be afraid to ask anything about you tractor along the way; we are happy to help.

Best regards, Cole

some more progress

one rear gear has a chip in it, no big deal.

front rims , i found out , are from a 36 ford sedan!! i think i'll keep them on there. kinda unique and it's what the original owner did, as well as the back cutoffs.

whole lotta sanding going on!
