Prototype 1949 Demonstrator C

But you gotta admit, if that tractor was brand new, setting on a dealers lot, and still looked just that way, it would probably grab even more attention than the white demonstrator.

Did not realize they offered the"powdered chocolate donut" finish in 1949???(Thought that started with the "Super series? :)

Hi there Dachshund,
If you do not have any need for that curved bracket next to the right headlight, I would be happy to buy it from you. It is the adjusting crank holder for a C295A plow. I have the plow on my C but am using a homemade bracket right now.

I DID clean up nicely. It took a sander and 80 grit paper to get all that "pigeon paint" off the hood and top of the grill. The metal is actually pitted due to the acids. There was a "pile" of hardened "paint" about 8" round, and 2" thick - right behind the radiator cap. It was NASTY stuff to get rid of! By the time I got it off, I had to rattle can the hood and grill because it was down to pitted, bare metal.

I'll have to think about that....I am thinking I want to find a plow for the tractor. I'll keep it in mind, though.

It was sitting in a wood grainery, not far from my house. It was in there, being abused by pigeons for 30+ years. I see a flock of abut 20-25 birds flittering around the building all the time. Over the years, that would be HUNDREDS of birds taking aim.....

Taste like chicken...8^)
