1949 C lift

Anyone every tear into the lift on a C? Mine has been sitting for about 30 years, and the control rods are locked up tighter than a bankers purse strings. It still has fluid, but nothing will move. Looking for any tips and pointers - I figure I'll need to remove thw whole unit and take it apart. Anyone know where to find gaskets?

This may not help but have you tried to greace the arms yet. Sometimes that can make a big difference

Yup. Tried greasing everything up and things are still "frozen". It's little wonder - the thing sat in a barn, being attacked by birds for 30+ years!

You can get a rebuild kit from IH for about $100. The rebuild is somewhat a pain in the butt, but you can do it. On disassembly just be careful that everything is layed out on a board so that assembly will be easier.

CaseIH has a "repair" kit containing mostly gaskets and o rings. Probably about $125 by now. Yes take it off and disassemble.
