New tachometer arrived.

I asked about a tach on here a couple weeks ago and the new one arrived - showed 1 hour - guess they were making sure it worked.

I was surprised to to see that my old 350 would run exactly PTO speed (1750 RPM) with the throttle at the stop and was able to reach 2100 RPM when pulled past the stop to WOT. Not bad that the factory settings are still accurate 50+ years later.

I was kind of dissappointed the old one crapped out with only 2100 hours showing - but then its 50+ years old too.

It looks pretty. Wondering how much of it was made from old Stewart-Warner tooling. I have one from the same factory as yours but it has the 400 face. I paid $50 as well.

The painted bezel is right for the earliest tachs. Not sure when IH speced the SS bezel. Probably early on after a high-ranking honcho in Chicago saw a complete tractor with a tach.

Glad I sold my original Cub tach w/840 hrs about 5 years ago. It went for $400 on eBay. The repros are going for $45. I hardly ever sell out at the top.
