Looked at a md the other day. It looked as if it was yellow from new. It was just a brief look so I could be mistaken.
Are there any yellow type made? Industrial? Did someone just like the color?
I have not seen any m or mds pulling at meets. Do they do well?

cheers
George

it was most likely an industrial. i have seen some yellow m's that were highway dept tractors. they had not adjustable rear axle set ups the the w-6 series.

I have seen pictures of a factory H that was built for a highway dept -- suppose there could be an M also. But, IH would paint any tractor yellow if special ordered, and some were. Or the person or business that bought it could have painted it. As glennster said, the wheels on the factory ones may be different -- worth another look.

i have a yellow super wd9 that the highway dept. used to pull a packer. its red under the yellow.

MDs don't do much at tractor pulls from what I have seen. I saw one that had some work done and was turning extra rpms and it still couldn't compete with a stout gas m.

The wheels were the standard farmall wheels. It had the narrow front also.
I will go again and check the serial number to see if it is a super and any other info.
The guy does want to sell it.

I take my MD to the pulls just for fun. It pulls quite well but doesn't score well because it's heavier than a gas M, and the weight is up front where it doesn't do you any good.
