super c left axle moving in out

Hi I have a super c the left axle moves about 1 inch out and in can i take the pto out and, get to the axle retainer and cap screws or will i have take the top off thanks for your help

Very skinny hands can do it (IIRC) using a rachet head box might also work, but again ingenuity might be needed to get it done. Jim

Take the top off as you are looking at some serious repairs and you need to have room to work and get it done rite. You will then be able to see how the other sides condition is.
