My 2424 started missing badly while skidding firewood yesterday. I limped it home and left it by the garage. When I came back after lunch, gas was dripping from the carb and I could not get it to start.

This morning I was using the starter to move it away from the garage and it started up and smoothed out. I ran it for quite a while before shutting if off - it ran fine. But as soon as I shut it off, the gas started dripping from the carb again.

Never touched the carb in 25 years, and it probably could use a re-build. It is very cold blooded. Any ideas what may be wrong now?

Thanks,
Tim

You got a speck of rust or other foriegn material in between the needle valve and the seat.

Thanks! I'm trying to get the carb off so it can be rebuilt, but am having a tough time. One of the nuts on the mounting studs won't come off. It looks like the stud is turning with it.
Any recommendations?

Tim
