H rim width

Just double checking myself on this. My H had junk 15.5 x 38's on it and I took one off today and measured the rim width. It is 11" from inside bead lip to inside bead lip. A 12.4x38 should be correct for that rim width, correct?
Also I decided to stay with the stock hubs and rims instead of the cutoffs, mainly because I don't want to load the tires and do want to install wheel weights instead. If anyone is interested in those cut-offs, my email is open

There is really no "correct" but a 12.4 would be a very good fit (about ideal) You could go as big as a 13.6, but that 15.5 was too big.

I second that motion!

The 13.6 would be my choice for that tractor. The 15.5 had NO buisness on that size of rim.

12.4"s would be "correct" for 11" rims but they are also about the most expensive size you could pick. 11.2"s or even 13.6"s would be cheaper though! I like to have my letter series set up as follows:

H - 5.00-16 fronts and 11.2x38 rear
SH - 5.50-16 fronts and 12.4x38 rears
M - 6.00-16 fronts and 13.6x38 rears
SM - 6.50-16 fronts and 14.9x38 rears

I got 1 mounted up and it looks good
As far as tire prices here in Phoenix
12.4 was 405.00
13.6 was 408.00

Now I need to find a set of 11.2x36 for my super C

(quoted from post at 20:27:00 12/02/11) My Super M has 14.9s(Antique Diamond Goodyears) and the next set will be 14.9s It has 12" rims

I wish I could find a set of 12s...

An 11" rim will accept a 13.6 just fine and it will look good. That is how my 1940 M is set up, and yes, a 13.6 will most likely be less costly than a 12.4 anyhow.

I have 12.4 on 11" rims on my H, I plan to upsize to 13.6 next time, it will look better. I have 6" tires on the front and it runs a little uphill.
