Speedy Sleeves and Seal Size

I am looking to use a a Speedy Sleeve and replace the front crank seal on an MD. The pulley is slightly grooved and we have it apart so we thought we would just do the seal to be safe. My question is that on the SKF-Speedy Sleeve website is says the speedy sleeves are intended to be used with the original seal size. Even though this may be the case it seems like due to the sleeve thickness(even though very thin) may cause premature wear on the seal of sleeve. Can anyone give me their experience with this?
Thanks

Although it may not last quite as long as a new sheave and seal, the savings offsets any less service. The way most MD's are run these days, you'll never notice the difference in life.

So, You might get 40 years of use instead of 60.
What's the problem?

Edit: People have been using them on harmonic balancers for decades.
And those engines run a much higher rpm.

I do agree with others not to worry about any premature wear due to the increase in diameter - BUT - those sleeve's aint cheap - I'm wondering how they compare to the price of a brand new pulley?

I haven't checked, but they're probably not all that far off.

Might even be able to ebay your old pulley and come out even better.

I've used the seals and speedi-sleeves from Chicao Rawhide and never had any problems with leakage. Case/IH also has the seals and speedi-sleeves. They show a picture when using them in my manual. Hal

hatrick,
I just reread my post.
I didn't mean for it to sound rude.
I sometimes find myself over thinking things too.

Thanks for the feedback. Napa wanted $38 for the sleeve a $22 for the seal. I got both for less than $30. Amazon had the sleeve for $24 which was pretty good but they did not have the sleeve so I bough both of them elsewhere. I just was not sure it it was worth oversizing the seal a bit. After thinking about it I just put one on my Super C that I had not put back together also but I bought that as a kit from IH and it was kind of pricey I think around $30 for both. Thanks again for the replies.
