IH 624 What's the difference

My buddy is thinking of upgrading from a B275 gas to a 624 diesel. There are two in our area for sale. One has a standard transmission, and the other has a AgriomaticS transmission. He uses his tractor for mainly blowing snow, so which would be the best tractor for him? Thanks Kent

If it is a 3pt snow blower that you back into the snow, then the tractor with the most number of reverse gears. Many years ago, we used a snow blower on a B414 with only 2 reverses but actually only 1 reverse was useful for blowing snow then we bought a 454 with 4 reverses, a great improvement.

Whichever tractor has the slowest reverse at full throttle will be the best.

My 624 standard has 4 reverse gears.

No actual experience on the Agrimatic, but I'd want to be sure it works real good.

If I understand right the Agrimatic has the shuttle/powershift lever in addition to the regular gear box so you have two reverse gears (one on agrimatic and one on regular shifter)
