Can you purchase coulters for an old IHC plow? Coulter bearings? All of my coulters are pretty worn out and the middle bottom has A LOT of play in it.

This is the plow I am working with. I don't remember what model it was.

You might try (Yetter Manufacturing Colchester,Ill !-800-447-5777). They list coulters and bearing they might have what you need.

I hope that is a before picture, because those bottom's don't look too scoured for having just been used.......

Yes, my old timer buddy hollared at me for putting drain oil on them rather than grease. I wanted to know why I should spend money on grease when drain oil was free. I also got scolded for:
- Using MD rather than SMTA (better tires and 4 sets of weights on SMTA)
- Using a cresent wrench rather than a combination wrench to adjust coulters (I don't own anything bigger than a 3/4")
- Lack of a battery box on MD (it will cause a fire)
- I'll functioning brakes on the MD
It seems like there were more...maybe I wasn't in a patient mood since it took 5 hours to plow 1.99 acres. The quack and foxtail would plug up the plow 1-2 times per pass and that got old REALLY fast.

Looks like a Little Genius.
From the picture looks like the old coulter that uses the sleeve tapered like a cone for a bearing.
I do not believe they are available from the dealer anymore.
I bought some new 5 years ago and I think parts man told me that was about the end of them in the system. Mark

You'll have to measure the bolt spacing and see if an aftermarket supplier still carries coulter blades for you.

I purchased the outer bearing cups from CIH four years ago and they had to come from different locations and they may have been the last pieces available. You'll have to get the numbers off the parts and go in and see what you can get.

One thing I do: get a new "axle" bolt, and then shim, or bush, the inner bore of the bearing cones to fit tight on the new bolt. It is not wearing in the correct spot, but it will be significantly tighten up the coulter and it will be fine as long as you don't have to plow an entire quarter each fall.
