International 420 3 bottom plow

My 420 trip plow trips while plowing too other. I know it is supposed to trip when it strikes a large rock but it trips during normal plowing. I put new points on all 3 bottoms and it got worse. Do the springs on the trips get weak and need to be replaced? Help!!

There should be a double-nutted bolt sticking out of the top at the rear of each spring trip mechanism.

Remove the top nut, and tighten the bottom nut down two revolutions. Then put the top nut back on.

Look and see if there is a spacer block between the spring and the top of the housing. If not you can slip a few washers in there to increase the spring tension.

There is a thick spacer between the spring and the top of the housing, should I add a couple additional washers?
