to start the deisel are you supposed to pull the stop out a bit ? if so what does that do? also it has a cobled-up 3 pt. which is comming off-so will a hitch off a M fit on it?

You pull the cable until the arm on pump contacts the spring loaded plunger and that is an increased fueling position for starting. If you have a BR pump you keep throttle completely closed, if CR pump you advance throttle about half throttle to start. Pump model is shown on plate on pump.

The U-shaped part should fit if the axles are square.
