BN transmission

I am in the (long) process of getting into the transmission on my BN to replace worn gears. I have removed right and left final drives from the transmission case. I also removed the pto/belt drive assembly. The lousy manual I wish I had not bought does not go into any detail about how to get the gears out of the transmission. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction on where I go from here. I don"t see how to get the differential out to gain access to the transmission gears. Thanks

As Teddy said you have to pull it off the torque tube also. To do any thing to a transmission you need to have it out and by its self to work on them

The manuals weren't any better back in 1941... Mechanics either learned by watching someone else, or figuring it out on their own.

Just where the final drives attach to the transmission case there is a bearing carrier (one on each side), attached with three capscrews to the transmission case. These bearing carriers carry the bearings on which the differential turns. Pull these carriers and the entire differential will fall out. IMPORTANT NOTE: between the bearing carrier and the transmission case are some shims. Left and right are most likely different, so mark the bearing carriers and keep the shims with their corresponding carrier. The shims determine A) the axial play of the differential and B) the back lash of the conical gears.
Both transmission shafts need to be pulled from the rear. On the input shaft (top) a bushing or a hub (cannot remember) is pinned to the shaft. Remove that pin and the coupler at the flywheel side and the bearing at the flywheel side.
