Can anyone advise what is the optimal compression for a gasoline H? Mine is running about 140lbs on all 4, cold w/ no oil added. (all plugs out, throttle and choke open, fresh battery)
That seems pretty decent, but I'm just wondering where it would be new.

Probably 'bout 145.

Don't worry 'bout that "adding oil" thing. One of the dumbest and 'waste of time' actions that ever came down the pike.

It either has compression or it doesn't; simple as that. :>)

I agree it either has good compression or not warm or cold or whether the throttle is open all we need is a reading of all cycls close to each other.

exact compression doesn't matter (within reason). What matters more is that they're all about the same.

If you had 145, 150, 140, and 90 you'd probably want to take a look at what's going on in that last one.

Where if you had 90, 90, 90, and 90 - you'd probably be doing just fine.
