504 Won't go

I"ve got a 504 international... Has run fine for 10 years... got on it yeasterday, it starts and runs, but when I but it in any gear it won"t go. I pull the TA and got it to just creep ahead a little but it has no power. I"m guessing clutch? buthave no Idea what to check to confirm....This did happen a few years ago but I was low on Hydrulic fluid and once I added that it was good to go...

So any advice as to where start looking would be appreciated..

There are several possible answers: Assumption: The tractor does not bog the engine down when letting out the clutch, it just fails to move, and the engine runs allong just fine.
The Master clutch colud be without enough friction material to operate. (should have been a symptom for a while unless someone borrowed it and wasted the clutch)
The Torsion cushion springs in the clutch disk center can fail (usually with noise and wierd action) but it will not move at that point, or it will not disengage, (keeps moving, not your issue)
The splines on the TA input shaft on the disk can be toast letting the disk rotate W/O the shaft.
The TA could be broken internally and no power going through it.
The TA clutch, and the spargue clutch could be bad.
Did the TA work at all? Jim

1. There is nothing on a 504 that would require hydraulic fluid to make it move. It is all mechanical drive with mechanical clutches. Adding hydraulic fluid "fixing" it was a fluke.

2. If the tractor moves at all, it is not in 2 gears at once. The tractor will NOT move if it is in 2 gears at once, period. If you keep trying you will break something.

You need to describe the problem better. What do you mean by "no power?"

No power meaning the engine dies?
No power meaning the engine runs fine but the tractor stops moving when you put a load on it?

Please try to describe what is going on better.

Usually a clutch or TA will display warning signs. It won't just go to pieces all of a sudden. You might notice a little slippage here and there, that gets gradually worse.
