SMD starting carb rebuilder?

Is there anyone on this forum that rebuilds starting carbs for the gas start diesel engines? My carb works but is off right now while the motor is being overhauled. I thought this would be a good time to have it freshened up. I also believe there is way too much choke shaft play where the rod goes through the side of the carb.

Thanks,
Dan

So I found a rebuild kit at https://www.link_disallowed/Carburetor_Kit_p/118808.htm

I've never rebuilt a carb before, but am good at working on stuff. Is there anything I need to know to rebuild this thing other than installing the new parts. Are there adjustments that need to be set? How easy is this to do?

Thanks,
Dan

We can't see your link because YT is afraid of a little competition, but I would guess it is A ll S tates T ractor P arts. You might also want to check S teiner. O E M has the parts as well but they are outragously priced.

The MD carb is easier than any other carb out there. There is nothing to it. I don't know what to say about the shaft play. I don't think there is anything out there that will fix that (off the shelf) but that stuff together as a kit is new to me so it might have the stuff.

On the side, when I got my MD 5 years ago they didn't even have the bowl gasket available. Now you can get all that stuff!

I took the carb apart and cleaned everything up really good. Super easy once I got in there and looked at it. We made a bushing at work to fix the choke shaft, turned out really good.

Thanks for your help,
Dan

Good deal. I told you it was easy. Nice work on the choke shaft bushing. I think that is the only thing you can do.
