I have found these tires around $510 a peice, 13.6x38 8 ply, R-1 tread....Can anyone tell me about these tires? Im concerned about tread life and having them fail on me in a couple of years, i obvisouly can not afford for them to be replaced in a few years....i have heard of firestones and goodyears lasting 20 years and i was wondering if i should just spend the $700 on firestones....

I am not trying to start a fight here between tire brands, i just need info on the BKT"s vs. others.....thanks

I can speak for a set i put on my Cub 3 years ago, they wear very well, and seem to be well made for the price. They get used in woods over sharp rocks and sticks and they have not chipped or been damaged a bit. I would buy anouther set in a heart beat. I have heard good things from others as well.

I put BKTs on the rear of my Super A and a "major US brand" on the front. It gets lightly used and mostly sits in the barn or goes to shows...the BKTs look great while the fronts have already started to show cracking.

BigTone: I bought a pair for my 8N last year and have been very pleased with them. I use the tractor everyday and to date they show no wear and have superlative traction. That being said, I recommend them.

We have had a set on the tractor that we mow with for at least 2 years and they still look like new.

I have put them on SC, Case S, and Allis WC in the last couple of years, have to say not used them much but happy with them, I would rather have Firestone or Titan, myself, but not for two or three hundred more per tire.

I have a pair of BKT trailer tires on my utility trailer that I have seriously overloaded several times in the past three years since I've put them on (ya I know, I need a bigger trailer), and thankfully have had no problems with them.

I'd rather have used Stones over new no names tires for working. If it is for parades and shows, the no names work great. Kent

Last june I paid $687 apiece installed on the farm for two 13.6X38 Firestones and one new tube. They'll be the last rears I put on that tractor in my lifetime unless I do something dumb, which is why these new ones were put on. Jim

Show me good used Firestones. I will buy every half worn 12.4, 13.6, or 14.9 mathed set you can find.
