Off topic IH Boats

This is a little off topic but did IH make fishing boats? I am going to look at a 12' boat that the guy says has the IH symbol stamped in it.

I don't know about the whole boat, but Palmer Marine used IH engines for power plants.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit...As IH made so many 'different' things throughout the years.Espeacially during the 'war'.

Yup, IH made marine engines, but I doubt they made the hulls.

Yup, they were Cub engines.

Yup, they were Cub engines.

And a bunch of other engines.

I looked at the boat and it was not made by IH, it is a Vio Holda (never heard of it) made in Topeka, Kansas in the 50's. Someone had put a IH emblem on it (no stamped symbol).

Somehow, I thought that would be the answer. With the availability of IH stickers and assorted memorabilia, you can find almost anything with an IH on it. I know of several IH barns, don't know if any of them are currently for sale.

As a kid, I used to visit with family in a small town on the coast if
Maine. There were two lobster boats in town that had IH marine
inline 6 cyl engines. Very nice set up with a sea water muffler
exhaust manifold. Now, most of these boats have diesel engines.
