got my 300U, having fun

:D I bought the 300 U I was looking at and so far no major problems. It's a 56 according to the serial number but registered as a 57. Running good, drives nice( a little shimmy getting down the road in 5th gear), and just a few leaks to catch up on. There is a coolant leak at the upper rad hose, and PTO seal and right axle seal leaks. I put a small snow blade on that a neighbor was tossing out and knocked down some of our manure pile. Got some chains for the tires today and I am getting a truck snowplow with frame for it for $100 tomorrow. I will just put it on the back for this winter. Where is the best place to get manuals for these tractors? I want to have all of the info for maintenance and adjusting the clutch/TA etc.

Check the manual offerings here at Yesterday's Tractor. Also check places such as Amazon that sell new and used merchandise. You might get lucky and find a factory service manual. Good luck.

Digital copies of the original manuals with very clear text and pictures can be found at www.external_link.

I suggest you do something like this rather than spending time trying to get the plow to work at the rear. You will never be happy with it.

This is a modified Fisher plow frame. If you don't have enough available hydraulic valves, use the plow's original pump, valves, and joystick.

The struts to the rear attach to an inverted H, M, 300-350, 400-450, 460-560 and other similar horseshoe drawbars. Inverted means facing forward rather than rearward. This can be done even if you have a Fast Hitch.

If you want to go nutz, you can add alot more, I am currently adding a crane and outriggers to this plow frame.

thanks, guys. Nice plow setups there. I was thinking the weight on the front without the P/S would be a pain. I guess with the tires loaded and weight on the back it would balance out though. I'm late with the winter prep so I was aiming for the easy route for now, but I do like the front mount better, we'll see.
