Super C Slight Miss

I have a 1953 SuperC tthat has a slight miss. Has been converted to 12V.Tractor runs great and has lots of power and starts vertually as soon as you hit the starter. Don't want to just start replacing parts. Can anyone advise where maybe I should Start. The coil is fairly new and is 12V with built in resistor.

Could be bad points, or play in the distributor. If you can move the shaft that is in the center of the unit (where the rotor mounts) then it needs to be serviced. (rebushed)

Agree with Andrew on the distributor. Definitely check that and clean up your points with some very fine sandpaper - or as others here have recommended, with a dollar bill.

But you may also want to try adjusting your valves - less likely to be the problem, but it is free.

if the tractor has sit and not ran much, check and make sure that plenty of fuel is getting to the carb. there is a small drain plug on carb, loosen, remove, there should be good gas flow; if not clean cut-off valve beneath gas tank. this usually fixes mine after it has sat for a while.

pull the plugs and read them that tells the story.have a look at points check gap, check for pitting. check timeing, check and adjust valves... important. adjust carb last.
