1953 Super M piston rings and oil pump

Does the ring with 3 dots go on top?.... or bottom closest to the oil ring?

On the oil pump, when re-assembling, does it matter which way the gear( the short gear ) is facing? I cannot remember which way it came out.

Call the manufacturer on the rings. Several codes are used, and we cannot remember them all. The info is on the flyer that came in the box. (or call them)
The oil pump can be seen to have tiny scars on its gear mating surfaces. Match them and be happy. If with a magnifying glass you cannot see any it will make no difference. Jim
