Smoking 706D

While idling for about 30 min yesterday my 706D with 282 engine began to make white smoke out exhaust, and excessive blowby out the tube. Also a few drops of oil. No loss of oil pressure, or noticable knock. Any ideas where to start or how to check?? thanks

Well hopefully your prob is different than mine was. I had "ovaled" cylinders or sleeves, I forget, anyhow, lots of blow-by and white smoke as this caused the rings to align the ring gaps, lots of blow-by and smoke. Ck for oil in the radiator along with air bubbles as it may well be a blown head gasket, hopefully.

Nothing is wrong with your tractor. It is 'swamped',meaning that it is full of raw, unburned diesel from prolonged idling. The 'oil' dripping out of the manifold and/or slobbering out the stack is just diesel fuel.I'll bet the engine wasn't fully hot/warm?Just it get to operating temp and work the snot out it for a little while,it will be ok.

He does need to check the oil to assure it is not Over Full with a leaking injector pump. But I agree it is a working engine and idling will make it slobber. Jim
