I"m wanting to build a Super M pulling tractor. And I"m wanting to use a M diesel block for the five main"s. I was just wanting to know if a gas or lp head would fit on that diesel block. Thanks for the help.

I've thought of that before and same thing, no fit!

However, I've yet to see a lower end failure on one of these tractors.

There was a guy that I saw at some local pulls who has a turbocharged M on alcohol. He buzzes up the RPM on that thing! Sounds like he's going to 4 or 5 grand.

Thinking of the wild blue yonder, a diesel with its head raised to about 1/4" on a spacer plate shaped like the block would lower the compression to a managable level (you need to do the math, I am proposing a concept)
Then putting a spark plug where the injector prechamber enters the chamber to make it run, then welding shut the compression relief valve openings would make it a gasser.
Add a custom intake and exhaust manifold/header with a turbo, and nasty it would be. Getting a cam ground might be a interesting issue, the diesel cam would work, but is no where near a pulling cam for gasoline. Jim
