Most were probably yellow, or whatever the business or fed/state/county agency wanted. There were a considerable number that were red also.

have't found anything but red paint on it. I thought they was all yellow. guess it was red.

Most were probably red. Most that weren't red were probably orange. Yellow wasn't that common in '46.

This Fairway 12 was red and the owner painted it yellow. We think it was used by the military. Hal

It could be painted red or orange for no cost. Yellow or any other color the customer wanted was available for a slight extra charge. Most were probably red. Untill the 50's, orange was the most common industrial color in the USA. A lot of state school busses were also orange rather than yellow untill yellow was made the standard by the government in the 50's.
