Can someone tell me if there is any other location on a Farmall 560 tractor that I can look for the serial number beside the tag on the bell housing. Someone painted over it and its not readable.

The actual serial number should be stamped into the tag, so a can of carb/brake cleaner and some #00 steel wool should remove the paint. Spray the carb cleaner on the steel wool to prevent the carb cleaner from going where you don't want it to go.

There is no other location for the serial number. It is only on the serial tag.

I have found that Gumout gasket remover spray is very good at peeling paint. Spray the gasket remover on and peel the paint off in one sheet.

The serial number is stamped into the tag so paint remover will not remove it.

The only number that I have found stamped on the tag is 33925 S-Y-CC. Does this number mean anything.

I believe that IS the serial number, and would indicate a mid to late 1960 tractor.

thats the number not too far from mine

According to your numbers it's a 1960.
S- means TA with provisions for 540 independent PTO
Y- hydra touch low and reverse attachment(with 12 gpm pump)
CC- third speed heavy duty tillage gear
That's according to the International Harvester Data book. Hope this helps.

S = TA with 540 IPTO
Y = 12 GPM Hydra-Touch pump
CC= 3rd speed heavy tillage gear attachment

These codes are in the parts book (page 7).

The preceding numbers (33925) are the serial number.

Ok, thanks. Another question I have is... Does it have a hydralic filter and where would it be if it does? I'm needing to change out the hydralic fluid, I'm having trouble with the front end loader going up and down.
