My '47 A has the larger style fuel bowl, like what you would find on an H or an M.
The last time I replaced the gasket I wanted to replace the strainer as well but the one the CIH fellow gave me didn't fit. I finally just installed the gasket with out the strainer temporarily and forgot about it.
It wasn't until I replaced the strainer on my SM that it dawned on me what was going on here. The strainer is different on the larger bowls, mainly the hole in the middle.
So, any reason why a A would be "upgraded" like this besides a plain old "farmer fix"? Are the inlets the same size on the two? I did a quick search and it almost looks like they are not...
Just curious,
K
