Farmall Super C Carburetor

Evening all,

I have a early 51 Super C with a Carter Carb. I cannot find a carb kit for it. I have come across one at TSC but it is wrong. Is there a source you know of or does anyone a a MS or Zenith they would like to get rid of reasonably? It is a 4H project for my son age 11. Thanks

Try your CaseIH dealer -- get the part number first from the parts section of www.caseih.com. If no dealer you can order one from Carter and Grunewald 866-327-6255. I will say that most don't like Carter carbs, I don't know as my C113 engines have Zeinth.

I've got 2 kits for that Carter, and I can get more, but there are NO floats available anywhere. Also, that Carter is kind of a flimsy design made out thin aluminum that is prone to warping. If it were my tractor, I would bite the bullet and get a brand new Zenith or Marvel-Schebler and be done with it.

Thanks Guys,

We had a CIH dealer in Mansfield, GA until Oct 1. CNH told them that they and 3 other parts only dealers were being closed and then CNH will be opening their own store to service the area. I have not heard of that one yet. But, the tractor ran with this carb on but it needs a kit. I went to TSC and the gasket they had was a little different than mine. I would like to get a kit but have not had much luck. The TSC kit had one small chalmber slot around one side of the venturi. Mine has a slot on both sides. But, if I look at the gasket, I can tell if correct or not. I was hoping to find a used Zenith or MS but I may have to dig deep if one cannot be found. I appreciate the help. Maybe I can track one down.

What kits do you have? The gasket seems to the diferent factor for the kit ID. See the comment below regarding the kit I need. Let me know if you can.

My email is open in the modern version.

Like Mr. Rustyfarmer says, throw the Carter in the trash and go buy a Zenith. Just went thru this less than 2 months ago. Smartest thing I ever did. These guys on this post for the most part know what they are talking about.
