hi, im thinking about a tractor that is for sale locally i have seen it on craigslist for a few weeks now. international, 444, diesel. around 2300 hours, the pix look good and the discription sounds good, i have never been around any international tractors, mostly ford 2000 diesel. and 8n"s. i would like to know if there are any pirticular problems to look for, if i were to go check it out. the asking price is 4000.00 i know the 1970 ford 2000 we have wont start in the winter without some kind of heat on it. are international the sam way? thanks for ant and all info

Diesels are that way. Some are more cold natured than others. The 444 is a fine tractor. It will likely need a block heater for use below freezing, and may need a an hour to 30 minutes on the heat above that. Good luck, Jim

Hi, we had a B-414,434 and 384 all the same as 444. The 444 model was between 434 and 384. Had excellent service from this series of UK built IH tractors.
They are a very reliable tractor in the 35 to 40HP range. The BD-154 engine is a glow plug start Diesel and when it gets to near zero F it will require a coolant heater. We used an lower rad hose inline heater in both B-414 and 434 but 384 came with a dealer installed tank heater.
